Oakvale Farm has the Pappinbarra River running through it, so if you like to go fishing, this is just one of the activities that will keep you happy.

There are Bass in the river, and we can point you in the right direction for the best deep holes for them. There are also beautiful swimming holes and peaceful places to sit and listen to the babbling brook and the serene nature sounds.

The sunsets here can be breathtaking, there is plenty of birdlife and we've had Platypus sightings so if you're a keen nature photographer, there is plenty to keep you entertained as well.

Pristine river environment at Oakvale Farm Lower Pappinbarra

These are experiences we've enjoyed daily - and that our camping guests have raved about (see their testimonials). Now, imagine that this is YOUR everyday reality, not just a weekend escape!

Harvey patting a cow at Oakvale Farm

Oakvale Farm is a working beef cattle farm, so you will likely see and/or interact with cattle during your stay. Many of our cattle are friendly, with a couple even willing to stand still for a scratch. Harvey is standing with our previous herd Matriarch (who was known as bossy boots, on her bad days) Eboni. Sadly, she's no longer with us, but our cows remain curious and friendly because that's how we want them to be.

If you happen to be here in School holidays, you may even have an opportunity to come to the cattle yards with us while we are handling our cattle. We generally do this during the holidays as our children are part owners of our herd, and this gives them an opportunity to participate in what is needed.

We wouldn't think we would need to say this, but we do have to advise that there is cow poo around our farm!

We had one set of campers a while ago who complained about this - we're not sure what they expected from a cattle farm 🤷‍♀️ however, now we just make sure that people know in advance.

Farm-Stay Income Potential

We've operated a successful farm camping business here (see guest testimonials), demonstrating the property's appeal for nature-based tourism.

The established camping sites, proven market demand, and pristine river access provide an immediate income opportunity for buyers interested in agritourism.

There is also the AirBnB potential for the dual-occupancy home.

Multiple Income Streams

Beyond the established camping operation, the property has hosted weddings, photography shoots, and private events - proving diverse revenue potential.

The combination of natural beauty and sealed road access makes this viable for high-end events.

A request for respect of privacy

Just a reminder though - this is PRIVATE property - ultimately it's our home and we would ask any prospective guests to respect this.

Unannounced visitors will not be welcomed or allowed to inspect the property.  If you wish to view the property, a viewing time must be arranged in advance.

I feel silly writing this, as I would never have imagined people would turn up uninvited and drive on to our property, but again, I'm writing it because this has happened to us before.

So, we welcome selected guests to our farm as respectful campers who wish to 'get away from it all' but who also understand and value our home and family privacy.
